Apple (AAPL) Working on Tools to Improve Parental Control
The pros of a meticulous Website Development Company Delhi came to know about this interesting chit-chat that happened between the Apple Investors and the company.
In response to an open letter that was published by Apple investors, “Think Differently About Kids,”
“As one of the most innovative companies in the history of technology, Apple can play a defining role in signaling to the industry that paying special attention to the health and development of the next generation is both good business and the right thing to do. Doing so poses no threat to Apple, given that this is a software (not hardware) issue and that, unlike many other technology companies, Apple’s business model is not predicated on the excessive use of your products. In fact, we believe addressing this issue now by offering parents more tools and choices could enhance Apple’s business and increase demand for its products.”
mentioned above, where they are clearly asking the American multinational technology company to pay heed to the future of children in regards to how much they access smartphones and also to enhance parental control features in iOS, has announced that it is steadily working towards developing features that will grant parents increased access to smartphone usage of children.
What Apple actually said in response? Take a look!
“We think deeply about how our products are used and the impact they have on users and the people around them, “Apple said in the statement. “We take this responsibility very seriously and we are committed to meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations, especially when it comes to protecting kids.”
The company added that it is “constantly looking” for ways to improve its devices and said that it plans new features that will make the tools it provides parents “even more robust.”
Per Bloomberg, Apple in its defense against the criticism has said that since 2008 iPhone along with other Apple products that run on iOS software has been serving various parental control features that allow parents to restrict the amount of information their children can access on their phones.
Though Apple in its response has already defined that they are working towards developing more features to enhance parental control, they weren’t very specific about as to what those features will be. But the shareholder letter has asked Apple to look after issues like limit on-screen time, hours of use, and improved monitoring.
As of now, Apple offers parents features where they can switch off Apple features like Siri and Face Time or restricting access to certain content in the iTunes Store by setting minimum ages.
